Punch archive sold
01/05/2004 - 12:06:13The historic Punch magazine archive has been sold to the British Library.
The archive contains more than 1,000 original cartoons from the magazine’s 160-year history.
Harrods owner Mohamed al Fayed, who bought the satirical magazine in 1996, sold the archive.
Mr al Fayed ceased publication of Punch two years ago but still retains ownership of the title.
