Jason Byrne wasted no time in celebrating his international cap with a brace of goals to extend Shels’ lead at the top to six points.
The first came on 13 minutes when Wes Hoolahan worked the opening and Owen Heary crossed low for Byrne to tap in from six yards.
Ollie Cahill provided the cross for the second seven minutes into the second half with Byrne again on hand to stab home from Kevin Doherty’s flick.
