14/04/2004 - 12:26:14
Fifteen young cyclists have begun a 400km trek from Dublin to Cork to raise awareness and money for the ISPCC’s Childline service.

The annual fundraiser began this morning in Dublin’s Merrion Square.

The cyclists involved are due to stop off in Wicklow, Wexford, Clonmel and Waterford before arriving in Cork next Thursday.

The ISPCC said it hoped the campaign would raise up to €100,000 for the Childline service.

Up to €80,000 was raised during last year’s Childline Cycle.
