Barristers receive majority of Tribunal’s costs
14/04/2004 - 08:21:53Barristers have reportedly received the vast majority of the €12m cost of the Mahon Tribunal over the past two years.
Reports this morning said figures obtained under the Freedom of Information Act showed that barristers had received €7.2m in fees from the tribunal in 2002 and 2003.
The figures also showed that the costs of the Mahon Tribunal had increased from €5.5m in 2002 to €6.4m last year.
Barristers claimed €4.1m in fees from the inquiry last year, compared to just over €3m in 2002.
