McCartney to return to Russia
14/04/2004 - 07:26:53Paul McCartney is going back to Russia later this year, it was announced today.
He is planning an outdoor concert in St Petersburg on June 20 with an audience potentially double the size of the 20,000 who crammed Red Square in Moscow to see him last year.
The concert is to be held in Palace Square, outside the Hermitage Museum, and organisers are preparing for a crowd of 40-50,000 people.
“This is as much as the security services would allow us to have,” Alexander Gafin of Alfa-Bank, one of the concert’s organisers, told a news conference today.
