Bond villain becomes a hero

14/04/2004 - 19:03:36
Neighbours are crediting actor Robert Davi with saving their home after a fire broke out under a water heater.

Shea Logdson, 19, said Davi got her 10-year-old sister out of their home in a Los Angeles suburb and fought the flames until firefighters arrived.

Davi, 50, was joined by two detectives, apparently friends of the actor who played the villain Franz Sanchez in the 1989 James Bond film Licence to Kill.

“This actor saved my home,” said Larry Logdson, the girls’ father and a high school teacher. “The flames were beginning to burn up the walls.”

US Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said the fire was smouldering in a crawl space and had the potential to quickly engulf the home.
