Owen aims to return for Rovers' visit
Liverpool hope Michael Owen will be fit to return from his slight hamstring problem to face Blackburn at Anfield on Sunday.
Owen missed Liverpool’s goalless draw at Leicester as well as England’s midweek defeat in Sweden, having been injured during the UEFA Cup exit in Marseille.
Boss Gerard Houllier will be concerned over the fitness of the dozen players who turned out for their countries in midweek, but there have been no reports of serious problems.
Chris Kirkland and Vladimir Smicer are still recovering from long-term problems, while Anthony Le Tallec and Steve Finnan are also expected to still be out.
Provisional squad: Dudek, Carragher, Biscan, Hyypia, Traore, Riise, Diouf, Kewell, Hamann, Gerrard, Murphy, Cheyrou, Henchoz, Baros, Owen, Heskey, Baros, Pongolle, Diao, Luzi.
