Seals to come off post boxes on Monday
02/04/2004 - 19:34:14Talks aimed at resolving the postal dispute are scheduled to get underway at the Labour Relations Commission next Tuesday.
Management at An Post and the Communication Workers Union have both agreed to attend the discussions.
It comes after the company reinstated all the staff who had been let go during the dispute, including more than 90 temporary full time workers.
John Foley of An Post has said: "From Monday we will be taking the seals off the post boxes and that will be the signal that people can commence posting again.
"There will be some backlog, namely international post, and we are managing that through our various systems but we reckon it will be 3 or 4 days before we are back to our previous levels."
