Basra car bomb kills five
18/03/2004 - 12:33:16A car bomb exploded near a hotel in the British-controlled southern Iraqi city of Basra today, killing five Iraqi civilians, police said.
The explosion occurred close to the al-Zeiytoun Hotel in central Basra. Several people were injured.
The dead included four men and a boy, police Captain Ihsan Hadi said.
A car bomb outside a Baghdad hotel last night killed 17 people, including a Briton.
