12/03/2004 - 23:24:47Matchstick Men stars Nicolas Cage as Roy, an obsessive-compulsive conman, who, along with Frank (Sam Rockwell) likes to part gullible people from their hard-earned cash.
The duo are getting a little bored with small-time cons, but when the ambitious Frank unveils a lucrative scam, Roy turns it down at first. However, when Angela (Alison Lohman), a daughter he never even knew he had, comes in to his life, he changes his mind.
As Frank and Angela grow closer together making up for lost time, the scam goes off according to plan, but as with all good con films there’s a real twist in the tail.
Despite some glaring holes in the plot and a pedestrian performance by Rockwell, Matchstick Men is worth the rental fee.
