Controversial film of the Passion opens in Ireland today

The movie has been given a 15PG rating, despite critics’ claims that it is excessively violent.
Jewish groups have also attacked the film, claiming its portrayal of Jews is anti-Semitic.
Irish distributors have reported unprecedented demand for copies of the film, which has already grossed more than $140m in the United States.
