Gardaí smash stolen car racket
24/02/2004 - 07:30:12Gardaí say they have smashed a major international crime gang after arresting four Lebanese men at a warehouse in Colbinstown, Co Kildare yesterday.
Around 15 detectives raided the warehouse as part of an investigation into the theft of luxury cars and motorbikes for sale abroad.
Gardaí claimed the men arrested during the noon raid were dismantling stolen vehicles, packing them into containers and then exporting them through Dublin Port.
A container packed with €300,000 worth of stolen car parts was seized during the operation, along with large amounts of paperwork and shipping records.
