Batty blow for Leeds

09/01/2004 - 11:59:59
Leeds caretaker-boss Eddie Gray has been rocked by the news midfielder David Batty could be out for up to a month with ankle ligament damage.

With Alan Smith, who has been playing in midfield recently, completing a two-match ban, it leaves Leeds light in that area for tomorrow’s Elland Road clash with Spurs.

Eirik Bakke should return after being rested for the 1-0 defeat at Newcastle on Wednesday, while striker Michael Bridges could start if Gray opts for a 4-4-2 line-up.

Squad: Robinson, Kelly, Harte, Matteo, Morris, Camara, Barmby, Bridges, Viduka, Pennant, Johnson, Duberry, Bakke, Olembe, McPhail, Lennon, Milner, Sakho, Kilgallon, Richardson, Carson.
