Recovery ahead for global economy - OECD

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) said its global economic growth indicator rose to 126.4 in October from a downwards-revised 125.1 in September.

"Moderate to strong recovery lies ahead in the OECD area according to the latest composite leading indicators(CLI)," the OECD said.

"October data signal continued accelerating performance in the United States and improving performance in the euro area, in particular for Germany and France."

The euro zone measure of CLI firmed to 123.5 from 122.5, with the German measure rising to 127.4 from 125.8 and the French reading climbed 122.2 from 121.3.

For the US, the CLI rose to 139.1 in October from 136.5 in September, while Japan's CLI was unchanged at 104.9.
