It was tough - Gregan
Australian captain George Gregan claims his side found it tough at times in today’s World Cup Pool A match, despite running in 13 tries during their 90-8 demolition of Romania in Brisbane.
The world champions displayed some poor handling early on as Petrisor Toderasc got the Romanians on the scoreboard with a first-half try.
It was one-way traffic after the break, though, and scrum-half Gregan reflected: “We found it difficult to adjust at the breakdown, and there was a tendency to over-commit.
“Missing our targets allowed them to slip in on the side, but in the second half we played better.
“It was a good effort, and they made us work hard. They are a physical team. We know we have played a game, but it was pleasing that we stayed in our structure.”
Australia are top of Pool A and next face African minnows Namibia in Adelaide on October 25.
