Cabinet move to protect less well off in Budget
18/10/2003 - 16:38:48Members of the cabinet met this afternoon after discussions about the upcoming book of estimates and Government budget.
Minister Mary Hanafin stated that all departments were meeting to notify each other of budget plans.
Ms Hanafin said that the cabinet were moving to prepare the Budget without affecting the less well off.
The Government chief whip also mentioned the discussions about the upcoming EU presidency saying it would be difficult because of the accession of 10 countries during Ireland’s term.
