Rio 'axed' from England squad
07/10/2003 - 09:28:37Rio Ferdinand has been axed from the England squad for Saturday's crunch Euro 2004 qualifier against Turkey, according to reports.
The Manchester United defender claims he forgot to give a sample for a drugs test after a club training session but took the test a few days later and passed.
A source said: "He was moving house that day and rushed off after training and forgot all about the test."
The squad is due to be announced today at 1pm.
