Fees rumours spark student protest
07/10/2003 - 09:12:00A series of student rallies are getting underway today in Limerick.
Up to 5,000 people are expected to attend a lunchtime march to protest at a rumoured 95% increase in the student registration fee.
If the hike goes ahead, it will bring the fee to €1,300.
Gareth Keogh, campaigns manager with the USI, says students are "furious" at the prospect, which he described as a "body blow".
