Aer Rianta unions propose third-party negotiations

A no-preconditions negotiation process overseen by an independent third-party on Aer Rianta's future has been proposed by unions at the semi-state company.

At a press conference held earlier today in Dublin, SIPTU president Jack O'Connor described the move as a "major initiative".

Union leaders said they would be writing to the Minister for Transport Seamus Brennan with their proposals later today.

Brennan has already stated that the airport body is to be broken up with three separate boards at Dublin, Cork and Shannon.
