EasyJet reports rise in passenger numbers

European low-fares airline EasyJet has announced it carried 1.89m passengers in September, a rise of 18.6% from the same month last year.

EasyJet acquired its rival airline Go last year for its valuable take-off and landing slots.

The airline said today its passenger loadings in September were 85.9% of capacity, up from a previous figure of 84.7%.

Ryanair, another rival to EasyJet, said last week it carried 2.02m passengers in September, up nearly 50% on last year.
