Kuwaiti faces death penalty for US deaths
04/06/2003 - 09:34:03A Kuwaiti man was condemned to death today for murdering an American civilian working for the US military.
Sami al-Mutairi, 25, had denied shooting two American contractors in a roadside ambush on January 21.
Michael Pouliot, 46, died in the attack near Camp Doha, the main US military base in Kuwait. David Caraway, 37, was seriously wounded.
Both were employed by a San Diego software company that was contracted to carry out work at the base.
Al-Mutairi’s lawyer Mohammed Minwer al-Mutairi said he would appeal.
