Rain eases Epsom ground
04/06/2003 - 14:05:34Andrew Cooper remains happy with the ground at Epsom after a few showers this morning.
Cooper watered some parts of the track on Tuesday and further rain fell today but Cooper is confident of providing good ground for the start of the Vodafone Derby meeting on Friday.
He said: “We’ve had 4mm this morning which has eased off now and I’m happy with the state of the ground.
“We did put some water on late yesterday in parts of the straight and on the hill where it was getting a bit quick. Most of the course is now good with the odd patch on the easier side and possibly on the quicker side too.
“I don’t anticipate getting much – if any – more rain until Friday and if it stays dry it should be perfect good ground for the start of racing.”
