Gardaí criticised after botched deportation attempt
04/06/2003 - 18:05:37The Gardaí have come in for criticism after a botched attempt to deport a man to the wrong country.
It follows reports that three members of the force escorted a man to Ghana where he was turned away by immigration officials because he was from neighbouring Liberia.
The round trip of first-class flights cost the taxpayer at least €30,000.
