Brady set to be next mayor of Dublin

Fianna Fail has chosen Royston Brady as its candidate for the post of Dublin Lord Mayor.

Mr Brady was chosen ahead of Cllr Mary Mooney last night after Deirdre Heney withdrew from the race.

As part of a voting pact with Labour, the 30-year-old is virtually certain to take over the mayor's chain from Dermot Lacey when he steps down on July 1.
