116,000 begin state exams
04/06/2003 - 07:56:00More than 116,000 secondary school students are beginning their Junior and Leaving Cert exams this morning.
The numbers sitting the exams are almost evenly divided between the Junior and Leaving Certificate.
The first paper being sat today is English. The exams period will last for three weeks before the final paper is handed out on June 22.
