LAN Communications provides connectivity for Acorn Life
Systems integrator and professional services company, LAN Communications has announced the completion of a secure, wireless connectivity platform for Acorn Life, a wholly Irish owned life insurance company.
The new networking infrastructure, which is based on a combination of GPRS* (Next Generation mobile services) from Vodafone and VPN (Virtual Private Network) technology, uses the internet to allow over 200 sales associates to access vital client information including policy documentation anytime, anywhere.
LAN Communications was established in 1993 and provides communications solutions to Irish industry. The first indigenous fully-certified Cisco Gold partner in Ireland, LAN Communications is a subsidiary of Eircom.
Established in 1989, Acorn Life Limited is an independent Irish owned company with its Head Office based in Galway. Acorn Life provides a wide range of financial services and distributes its products through a nationwide team of over 200 sales associates. At the end of 2001, Acorn Life had assets of €225m and premium income was in excess of €65m.
