Schumacher leads dream Williams charge

Ralf Schumacher spearheaded a dream start for Williams-BMW as the 61st Monaco Grand Prix got under way in Monte Carlo this afternoon.

The German, who snatched an unexpected pole position yesterday, powered away on the tight and twisty streets when the red lights went out.

And Williams – who have not won the race for 20 years – were given a further boost as third-placed Juan Pablo Montoya got a jump on McLaren’s Kimi Raikkonen, who had a dismal start, to take the second place.
