GAA to respond to criticism of sponsorship deal
28/05/2003 - 07:40:55The GAA is expected to respond today to Health Minister Micheal Martin's criticism of the association's sponsorship deal with Guinness.
Mr Martin said yesterday that the deal was inappropriate and was sending the wrong message to young people.
GAA president Sean Kelly is expected to defend the sponsorship at a press conference later today.
He is also due to announce plans to build a hotel at Croke Park in Dublin.
The plans, the largest investment by the GAA since the redevelopment of Croke Park, are likely to be opposed by local residents.
