Tanaiste publishes insurance reform Bill
28/05/2003 - 10:07:25The Tanaiste, Mary Harney, has published the heads of a Bill aimed at reforming the insurance industry.
Ms Harney said the establishment of a personal injuries assessment board would form a critical element of the programme.
The board is designed to reduce the cost of processing compensation claims by replacing the current court-based system with a speedier and less costly mechanism.
Ms Harney said it could be operational by next year.
