Unions: Martin meeting 'reasonably constructive'
12/05/2003 - 17:17:53Union leaders have met with the Minister for Health Micheal Martin to discuss the crisis in the health sector.
It comes against a backdrop of growing industrial unrest among doctors, nurses and health care workers as more hospital bed closures are announced.
It has been agreed that both sides will meet again in ten days to allow time for talks between the Eastern Region Health Authority and the various hospitals at the centre of the cutbacks.
General Secretary of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions David Begg described the meeting as "reasonably constructive".
