Euro now trading at $1.16
12/05/2003 - 11:47:27The Euro reached a high of $1.16 versus the US dollar this morning.
The fall in the dollar was prompted partly by remarks made by the US Treasury Secretary John Snow that the value of the dollar would be set by the markets and that a lower dollar would help exporters.
The euro was also at a high against sterling, opening at STG71.87 to one euro.
