Robbie to star at De Niro's film festival
04/05/2003 - 09:09:37Chart star Robbie Williams has been given a personal invitation to perform at Robert De Niro’s film festival later this week.
Robbie – who has been trying to crack the US although album sales have tailed off – will play the acting great’s respected Tribeca Film Festival on Friday.
He will perform in New York’s Battery Park on a bill which also includes record-breaking Grammy winner Norah Jones.
Williams – now based in Los Angeles for much of the time – is to play a 30-minute show at the 100% NYC concert which is a highlight of the festival.
Last year’s event climaxed with an outdoor show by David Bowie in front of 10,000 fans.
Robbie will also reach a huge US audience as a guest on the Jay Leno show on May 12.
