Higgins sets up clash with legend Davis

27/03/2003 - 07:00:24
John Higgins beat Anthony Hamilton 5-2 to set up a quarter-final tie with Steve Davis at the Irish Masters.

Higgins' victory contained two century breaks as he eased into the next round.

A 62 and a 44 helped his cause and keeps his hopes alive of reaching a first ranking semi-final this season.

Peter Ebdon went down 5-2 to Quinten Hann, who now plays Dave Harold for a place in the last four.

Ebdon was upset by an incident early in the game when he was called for a push shot by referee Michaela Tabb.

Hann offered a re-rack that Ebdon declined before conceding the frame.
