Campbell misses England trip
27/03/2003 - 13:16:03Sol Campbell was today ruled out of England’s Euro 2004 qualifier in Liechtenstein on Saturday.
The Arsenal centre-back failed a medical after England trained at the Gunners’ London Colney training ground.
The Football Association’s head of communications Paul Newman told the Press Association: “He won’t be travelling with us. We have decided he will stay and join up with us in the north-east on Sunday ahead of the Turkey game.”
Sven-Goran Eriksson’s men take on the Turks at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light next Wednesday.
