Palestinians kill suspected collaborators
01/04/2002 - 19:16:11Palestinian militants have killed Palestinians suspected of collaborating with Israel, security sources said today.
Ten bodies were found in the West Bank. The dead included eight men who were taken by militants from a temporary jail and shot in the streets in the West Bank town of Tulkarem, according to reports.
The men might have been killed to avoid having the suspects freed by Israeli troops who threatened to enter the northern town, the Palestinian sources said.
Guards fearing the invasion of Israeli forces left their posts before gunmen entered the building and shot dead the prisoners.
Palestinian security sources said the eight men had been accused, but not convicted, of the charges against them.
The bodies of two Palestinian policemen were found in a Ramallah park.
