Peres willing to talk to Arafat
11/09/2001 - 07:13:29Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres has signalled his willingness to restart peace talks with Palestinian President Yasser Arafat if there is a complete halt to all Palestinian violence.
The move follows a meeting between Mr Peres and Irish Foreign Minister Brian Cowen in Jerusalem last night.
Mr Cowen, who is on a five-day fact-finding mission in the Middle East, may meet Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Mr Arafat separately later today.
