Iraq claims to shoot down US spy plane
11/09/2001 - 11:21:41Iraq’s state-run news agency has claimed that the country’s air defences shot down a US spy plane near the Gulf port of Basra today.
Last month, Iraq claimed to have shot down an unmanned spy plane in the same region.
US officials have confirmed that the plane is missing, but said it could have simply crashed.
