Man injured in Waterford shooting

A man has been shot and injured today in Co Waterford.

The alarm was raised shortly after 1pm this afternoon when a man, said to be in his 50s, was found by the roadside in Coolbeggan, near Tallow.

He was suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds, and rushed for treatment to Cork University Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.

He is now in a stable condition.

Anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious is asked to contact gardaí in Dungarvan.

In particular they are looking for information on a Blue jeep-type vehicle seen in the area at the time.
