RSSLenihan: Nationwide 'willing' to merge with EBS
The Finance Minister Brian Lenihan has said Irish Nationwide Building Society has expressed a willingness to talk to EBS about a possible combination of the two lenders.
Mr Lenihan said the State would expect to have a substantial stake in the combined company.
He said it is now a matter for the two lenders to meet for talks.
