Gardaí are investigating whether a gun attack on a house in Limerick last night was linked to the ongoing feud between rival criminal gangs in the city.

Two armed and masked men fired at least three shots at a house in the O'Malley park area just before 7pm before driving away in a waiting car.

Reports this morning say the men had earlier entered the house, as well as a second house nearby, looking for an individual who was not present at the time.

The shooting was the latest in a string of gun attacks in Limerick since the murder of Frankie Ryan almost two weeks ago.
