Star Quinn lined up for theatre festival

Dublin Theatre Festival has scooped the talents of renowned actor Aidan Quinn, it was revealed today.

The Irish-American star will be a guest cast member in The Exonerated during its run in Dublin.

The Exonerated, which shares the true stories of six innocent survivors of death row, has already been a hit in New York, Edinburgh and London.

The powerful production has also attracted numerous guest performers including Danny Glover, Susan Sarandon, Mia Farrow, Alanis Morissette, Gabriel Byrne and Vanessa Redgrave.

Quinn, who starred in the acclaimed Song For A Raggy Boy and Michael Collins, recently returned to Ireland to join forces with his sister to film a coming-of-age movie set in 1970s Dublin.

The production, 32A, focuses on the point of view of a 13-year-old girl from the capital.

The Exonerated will run at Liberty Hall Theatre from September 29 to October 14 as part of the Dublin Theatre Festival 2006.
